Full Cycle
Full Cycle as the name implies is about being close to nature. I relay messages about our environment through the use of paper, fabric and book pages as a back drop for my encaustic work. The irony about this series is that all the materials used; with the exception of the encasutic come from trees. The paper, old book pages, the sub strait that I paint on and the frame are all derived from wood. In a time when our world has never been so aware of deforestation and the fragility of habitat I find it ironic that in order to feel these issues and convey messages in that regard I am guilty of using the very thing that we are trying to conserve.
